Updated 10 October 2026
Apple held its 'Surprise and Shine' event on 9 September 2026. Before it, reports pointed to three new phones: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple's first foldable, rumoured to be called iPhone Ultra.
The Pro models were expected to look like the iPhone 17 Pro, with a new A20 Pro chip, bigger batteries and a variable aperture camera that might be exclusive to the Pro Max. The standard iPhone 18 was reported to be delayed until spring 2027.
Prices were also tipped to go up. These details come from pre-launch reports, so check Apple's website for the final specs and prices before you decide.
