Samsung's 2026 flagship: refined, powerful, and not a huge leap.

Updated 10 October 2026

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S26 Ultra in February 2026. It has a 6.9-inch flat screen, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, four rear cameras, the S Pen and fast charging of up to 60W.

GSMArena says the upgrades are modest but meaningful, at about the same launch price as the S25 Ultra. TechRadar calls it Samsung's best Galaxy S phone yet. Samsung also promises seven years of software and security updates.

The catch: GSMArena says rivals like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra beat it on camera and battery life. Prices in South Africa differ from the overseas launch prices, so check Samsung SA before you buy.
